Three Dimensional Simulation of Impact Response of Glass Fiber Reinforced Aluminium Laminates for Conical and Blunt Nose Projectiles

چکیده

Fiber-reinforced polymeric composites are used widely due to their unique properties of light weight, stiffness and high strength weight ratio. During processing and servicing, the composite materials undergoes delamination, and petalling. Computational model was constructed for finite element modeling to reflect material purpose under impact load and relevant material properties were taken. In case of blunt nose projectile impact plugs are sheared off from (aluminium) plate and middle (GFRP) plate. Dynamic non-linear transient analyses are done by using finite element analysis software, ABAQUS. Damage area found to decrease a bit as impact velocity increases. KeywordsGFRAL plate.
